WHAT I OFFER

As your Doula, I will provide you and your partner with care, understanding, information and support throughout, during, and after the birthing process. Our initial meeting will help me tailor what I can offer to fit your needs, as every pregnancy is different. Below is a rough idea of what having me as your Doula may include.

PREGNANCY SUPPORT

2 pre-natal meetings (2-3hours per session and include a homemade meal)

These can include, but are not limited to:

  • Discussing your birth preferences and wishes.
  • Debriefing any previous birth experiences.
  • Signposting to information to help you make informed choices.

  • The loan of books from my own ever expanding birth library.

  • Discovering aromatherapy and making a belly oil together.

  • Making a belly cast as a beautiful memento of your bump.

  • Helping you source a birth pool if you are opting for a home birth.

  • Accupressure points / help in relieving aches and pains during pregnancy.

  • Available for phone, text and email support throughout our time together.

BIRTH SUPPORT

  • I will be on call the 2 weeks prior to and following your estimated due date. I will be available for you the moment you need me when in labour and will stay until your baby arrives.

  • I can offer tips on positions and pressure points to use while you are labouring and will support your partner by being by your side if they need to rest/eat/use the toilet at any point.

  • I can assist with holding space for you both and respect your privacy as and when you need it.

  • I can help to ensure you stay nourished and hydrated during labour.

  • If you like, I would be happy to take some photos of your babies first moments with you and I am also happy to transport your placenta to a placenta practitioner if this is something you are interested in.

POSTNATAL SUPPORT

1 or 2 postnatal meetings (2-3hours per session and include a homemade meal)

These can include, but are not limited to:

  • Talking about your birth experience.
  • Supporting you in your breastfeeding journey (if this is something you choose).

  • Providing some relief by holding your baby for you and your partner should you need to rest.

  • Providing a nutritious meal.

  • Signposting you to support groups or further information you require in order to feel confident going forward.

Costs

The cost of this service is £700 and I am happy to offer payment plans. Parking fees are billed extra, if needed.

In the event that you are having an elective C-section, I can also support you in this and would reduce my fees further in this instance. I am also happy to discuss an antenatal package should you just be looking for support during your pregnancy and don't require me to attend the birth itself, so please feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.
